Investigation on Microstructure and Compressive Strength of Brazing Porous Nickel to Copper and Stainless Steel

This paper investigates the effects of brazing temperatures on microstructure and compressive strength for porous nickel to copper stainless steel using VZ2250 as filler metal. A high vacuum furnace is used braze samples. Three different process parameters were set with a heating cooling rate 10°C/min, respectively. The characteristics joint interface have been investigated evaluate performance brazed samples by use scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-Ray spectroscope, diffractometer, Instron Universal Testing machine. data obtained has quantitively analyzed confirm diffusion BFM during process. It found that resulted in an increase rigidity Ni. tests showed maximum can be achieved at 680°C. highest value justified quantitative analysis microstructural data. proved effectively diffused into Ni temperature 680°C; Cu3P Cu6Sn5 detected Interface 1, whereas MnNi3 phase 2.
